Make Sense of Your DNA Matches ($150 flat fee)
Don’t recognize anyone in your DNA match list?
Searching for someone and they are not showing up?
Trying to identify a parent, sibling, or other close relative?
Seeing results that do not match what you expected?
Not sure what to do next?
This service is designed for people in exactly those situations. If your DNA results raised more questions than answers, or you are trying to identify a specific close family member, your AncestryDNA data may still contain the answer—but only when it is analyzed carefully and methodically.
I analyze your AncestryDNA matches and supporting records to determine how your matches connect, with the goal of identifying your missing person. This work focuses on close matches, grouping them into maternal and paternal lines, and building out family trees for many of your DNA matches to test and confirm relationships. DNA alone does not provide answers—it must be used alongside traditional genealogy to reconstruct the correct family structure.
Results depend on the strength of your data. Cases are most successful when close matches (typically 1st–2nd cousins or closer) are available on the side of the family being investigated. When only distant matches are present, the question may not be solvable with a high level of confidence.
You will receive a written summary explaining what the DNA evidence supports, what remains uncertain, and any recommended next steps.
Requirements for best results: your DNA must be tested through AncestryDNA. This service is focused on identifying close family connections and is most effective for U.S.-based family lines.
Q. You keep saying this service helps identify a “close match”. What do you mean by that?
Parents, siblings, aunts/uncles, 1st cousins, grandma/grandpa.
Q. But I want to figure out who my great-great-grandfather was… can you look at my DNA and do that?
Yes, but that is a different type of project and typically requires more extensive research. Please see this other service .
Q. Can this really work? Can you really figure out who my missing ______ is?
Yes. Identifying unknown parents or close relatives using DNA is a well-established process. However, results vary by case and depend heavily on the quality and proximity of available matches. In some cases, conclusions may be narrowed to a small set of candidates rather than a single individual.
Q. What do I need to provide you?
You’ll share your Ancestry DNA with me (linking me as a COLLABORATOR).
Depending on your goals you can either share your Ancestry with me, or I can create a new tree for my research and then you’ll copy the pertinent information over to your tree later. If you share your Ancestry tree with me then you will link me as EDITOR (and give me access to see living people).
The permissions can be revoked on your DNA and tree easily when we’re done working together.
Q. What tools/subscriptions do you have?
I have Ancestry Pro/All Access with Newspapers.com and Fold3.com memberships, subscriptions at all the major newspaper banks, and accounts with My Heritage, GEDMatch, 23andMe, and Family Tree DNA. I also use AI tools extensively for report writing, research and analysis.
