Your Family Tree, Built Right ($100 for a 2 hr block)

Whether you’re just starting out or want to double-check the work you’ve already done, I can help you build or verify or debug (!) your family tree. You’ll retain full ownership of your tree on Ancestry.com, and I’ll use my own subscription with editor access to conduct the research.

Building a tree without proper research methods can easily lead to duplicates and errors. Each mistake makes Ancestry’s matching system work harder and can cause incorrect hints to appear. A well-built, accurate tree ensures that the hints you receive are relevant and reliable — helping you uncover the real stories and family connections you’re searching for.

Each project begins with a short consultation, by email, phone, or video call, to clarify your goals and review any existing information. After that, I’ll conduct a focused two-hour research session, followed by a clear summary of findings and next-step recommendations.

Currently offering services for primarily U.S.-based family trees.

Q. Is two hours enough to get anything done?

Yes. Two focused hours is enough to make meaningful progress. In that time I can review what you already have, correct any errors, add well-sourced records, add an extra generation, and outline the most reliable next steps. The goal is not to build an entire 10-generation tree in one session. The goal is to give you a clean, accurate foundation and a clear path forward.

For example, I recently broke through a client’s early 1900s brick wall after about 4 hours of research!

If your project needs more work, we can continue in additional time blocks, but the first two hours are designed to give you real, measurable improvement right away.

Q. What tools/subscriptions do you have?

I have Ancestry Pro/All Access with Newspapers.com and Fold3.com memberships, Genealogy Bank, My Heritage, and GEDMatch. I also use AI tools extensively for report writing, and research and analysis.

Q. What do I walk away with at the end of our contract?

You’ll have access to your tree, with the research in it. You can (or I can) remove my access to it at that time. Additionally I will submit a short report of any findings of interest, and a summary of what your research goals were and associated work. For example the report might include, where more research is needed, or interesting findings.
